MultiBin is a HIGHLY adaptable bin and drawer system unlike anything else out there. You can place bins on a grid to build tidy arrays You can also mount the Bins on a vertical MultiBoard. You can connect bins together into clusters You can customize their function with various holders, lids and labels. You can turn them into drawers.

How does MultiBin compare to other bin systems? (Gridfinity…)

Gridfinity Gridfinity is "bins on a grid". MultiBin is also bins on a grid, plus: Bins can connect to boards, vertically or horizontally (like drawers). Bins can connect directly to each other. They're dividable and extendable. They can become drawers. They can attach magnetically to grids or other bins. Functional elements are interchangeable. They accept lids. …I can keep going! MultiBin integrates seamlessly with MultiBoard, giving you a complete organization ecosystem.

Is MultiBuild open source?

MultiBuild isn't strictly "open source". We use a custom license, but it keeps the spirit and benefits of open source. All the individual functional parts are free (or will be), and the community can freely remix and share their MultiBuild-compatible creations. Our license however, prevents the redistribution of the original MultiBuild files. This allows: A sustainable membership to fund development. Protection from low-effort copycat companies. How can we trust you to keep the individual parts free?

I get it. Technically, we could change our minds and make all the parts paid forever. But we would never do that. So to guarantee that will never happen, we made a legally binding community promise that guarantees that all of the functional MultiBuild parts will be free within 6 months of release. Do I need a special 3D printer?

No, most consumer 3D printers with at least a 200×200 mm build plate can print the standard plates. Smaller printers can simply use smaller plates.
